English grammar is the set of rules that explains how words are used in a sentence. Understanding basic grammar helps you write and speak correctly. Here are some important parts of basic English grammar:
Nouns
Nouns are words that name people, places, things, or ideas.
Examples: teacher, city, book, love
Pronouns
Pronouns take the place of nouns to avoid repetition.
Examples: he, she, it, they, we
Verbs
Verbs show actions or states of being.
Examples: run, eat, is, are
Every sentence needs a verb.
Adjectives
Adjectives describe nouns.

Adverbs

Articles
There are three articles in English: a, an, and the.
a and an are used for general things.
the is used for specific things.

Sentence Structure

Tenses
